Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all drilling and blasting activities to ensure they are carried out safely and efficiently.

  • Hold legal responsibility for all safety-related activities under your control.
  • Communicate and implement relevant legal and operational policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.

Requirements

Alternatively, a qualification in Mining Engineering such as BSc Eng, B Tech or Advanced Diploma, B Eng, or National Diploma in Coal Mining/Engineering.
  • At least 4 years of experience as a mining foreman in a production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety systems, regulations, and standards, with a proven good safety record.
  • Excellent managerial, supervisory, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth understanding of mining methods, mining legislation, and environmental laws.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Certificate of Fitness.

Advantageous Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in drill and blast activities.
  • Prior acting experience as a Mine Overseer.
  • Completion of the MOC/Mining Intern Programme.
