Senior Educational Designer

Foundation for Professional Development (FPD) – Pretoria

Position Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Educational Designer to join our Education Innovation Department. This full-time role offers an annual salary range of R499,090 – R565,472 (commensurate with qualifications and experience).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop engaging educational materials for multiple delivery formats (online, contact, distance, blended)
  • Lead course development projects from concept to implementation
  • Manage relationships with subject matter experts and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and accreditation requirements
  • Maintain and optimize Learning Management System (LMS) functionality
  • Support faculty development in teaching methodologies
  • Coordinate regulatory compliance for academic programs

Essential Requirements

Qualifications:

  • NQF Level 7 qualification in Education, Instructional Design or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification (advantageous)
  • Certification in curriculum development/instructional design (preferred)

Experience:

  • 5+ years in higher education curriculum development
  • Advanced skills with e-learning tools (HTML, authoring software, LMS)
  • Proven track record in educational project management
  • Experience with CPD accreditation processes

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Canvas, Moodle, Learn Worlds, or similar LMS platforms
  • Expertise with H5P, Genially, and multimedia development tools
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
