SEASONAL BEACH LIFEGUARDS
We are seeking dedicated and responsible individuals to join our team as Seasonal Beach Lifeguards. This role is essential in ensuring the safety of beachgoers during the busy season. As part of our Public Safety Department, you will play a key role in preventing accidents, responding to emergencies, and providing a secure environment at our beaches.
Key Requirements:
- A Grade 10 certificate or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 1-3 years of lifesaving experience.
- A valid Lifeguard Award with current annual retests is highly desirable.
- A clear criminal record, with no pending criminal cases, trials, or sentencing.
- Must be drug-free.
- A Level 2 First Aid Certificate is an added advantage.
Main Duties:
- Carry out lifeguarding responsibilities as a team member at assigned beaches.
- Report directly to the Disaster Risk Management Officer.
- Provide first aid assistance to those in need.
- Monitor beach activities to prevent drowning or other hazards.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including rescues and medical aid.
- Work collaboratively with other lifeguards and emergency services.
- Maintain equipment and follow safety protocols at all times.

Salary and Benefits:
This position is graded at T6, with an estimated total cost to company (CTC) of R 318 217.45 per annum. The basic salary range is R 179 068.53 to R 232 438.55 per annum. Additional benefits may include those standard to municipal employment, subject to the terms of appointment.
