Position Overview
We seek a skilled Payroll and Management Accountant to ensure payroll compliance and support financial operations. This role reports to the Finance Manager and offers the opportunity to:
- Oversee end-to-end payroll administration
- Provide strategic financial insights
- Maintain regulatory compliance
- Contribute to organizational financial health
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Manage payroll processing and distribution of employee documents
- Handle SARS e-filing and employee pension administration
- Maintain accurate payroll records and compliance documentation
Financial Management
- Prepare financial reports for board and audit committees
- Assist in annual financial statement compilation
- Support budget preparation and monitoring
Strategic Support
- Mentor finance interns and junior staff
- Collaborate with internal departments on financial matters
- Implement process improvements in financial operations
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- NQF Level 7 qualification in Accounting/Finance or related field
- 3+ years’ relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- NQF Level 8 qualification
- Professional accounting body membership
- Experience in public sector/education environment
Technical Competencies
- Proficiency in SAGE 300 People & Accpac systems
- Advanced knowledge of GRAP & PFMA regulations
- Expertise in payroll tax compliance (SARS e-filing)
