Job Description
Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to handle assigned payroll tasks to ensure the accurate calculation and preparation of all salary-related inputs. This includes validating and processing payroll information correctly, generating payments to third parties, and preparing monthly payroll reconciliations.
Main Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Accurately calculate and prepare all salary-related information for payroll processing during the relevant period.
- Accurately process all salary-related information on the SAGE People Payroll system.
- Resolve all salary-related inquiries from employees and third parties.
- Prepare, validate, and ensure the accuracy of Group Life and Post-Retirement Medical Aid information for actuarial valuation purposes.
- Prepare and reconcile third-party payments to the payroll on a monthly basis.
- Reconcile all payroll-related general ledger control accounts, including explanations for any reconciling items.
- Prepare year-end external audit working papers for directors’ and executive remuneration, provisions, and disability accruals.
- Prepare, validate, and ensure the accuracy of statutory submissions for Stats SA.
- Comply with relevant taxation, BCEA, and other legislation, as well as the policies and procedures of the South African Bank Note Company (SABN).
Requirements for the Preferred Candidate:
- Grade 12/NQF equivalent with Accounting and Maths (Essential).
- Post-school Payroll qualification (Desirable).
- 3 years of specific SAGE 300 experience on Payroll and/or HR Modules (Essential).
- 2-4 years of core experience in an HR administrative or Payroll environment (Essential).
