DUTIES:
In this role, you will support financial information analysis using tools, forecasting models, and cost estimates for planning and decision-making. You will analyze the NSG’s profitability and manage financial performance through standard costing, budgetary control, accounting ratios, cash and funds flow statements, cost reduction programs, and capital expenditure evaluations.
You will assist in budget planning, development, allocation, and control under the PFMA, including Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), Estimates of National Expenditure (ENE), and Adjusted ENE. Collect and verify budget holder information, compare expenditure against budgets, identify variances, and prepare accurate reports. Capture budgets and accruals on systems like BAS and Vulindlela.
Help identify cost-saving opportunities to avoid fruitless and wasteful expenditure. Manage weekly bank and cash requisitions. Review and reconcile general and subsidiary ledger items. Record bank statements and balances on BAS, Pastel, TMS, and update spreadsheets. Support preparation of the Appropriation Statement for the NSG and implement processes to prevent unauthorized expenditure.
