Position Details

  • Position Status: Full-time (Paterson Grade C4)
  • Remuneration: R545,276.01 CTC package + potential 20% performance bonus
  • Application Deadline: 29 July 2025

Core Purpose:

Support financial operations through budget management, expenditure control, reporting compliance, and accounting systems administration under the Finance Manager’s direction.

Detailed Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Prepare consolidated organizational budgets with detailed cost analysis
  • Conduct monthly variance analysis across 14 business units
  • Manage cash flow projections and budget availability checks

Accounting Operations

  • Supervise payroll reconciliations (PAYE, UIF, SDL, pension funds)
  • Manage bank statement reconciliations for 3+ accounts
  • Coordinate fixed asset management and depreciation schedules

Special Projects Management

  • Administer NSF project finances including grant allocations
  • Prepare quarterly government reports for DHET
  • Conduct learner verification field visits

Compliance & Reporting

  • Coordinate annual audits and risk management processes
  • Ensure PFMA and Skills Development Act compliance
  • Prepare statutory reports for multiple government departments

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC/NQF 4)
  • National Diploma (NQF 6) in Finance/Accounting

Preferred Credentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Financial Management
  • Experience with Great Plains accounting systems

Required Experience

  • 4+ years in financial administration roles
  • Experience in public sector accounting preferred

Technical Competencies

  • Advanced Excel financial modeling skills
  • Full budgeting cycle management experience
  • Working knowledge of BB-BEE legislation
