Qualifications and Experience:
Basic literacy (Grade 8 or equivalent).

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidates will perform general services and work functions to support the Mangaung Metro Municipality in achieving its service delivery goals. This includes tasks related to parks and cemeteries maintenance, solid waste management, water demand services, sanitation, and other operational areas as assigned. Duties may involve manual labor, cleaning, collection, and maintenance work to ensure efficient public services.

Additional Requirements:
– Proficiency in at least two official languages used by the Mangaung Metro Municipality.
– Willingness to work outside normal hours during emergencies and planned overtime.

  • An abridged CV.
  • Certified copies of certificates (Applicants with foreign qualifications must have them evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and attach proof of evaluation).
  • Proof of qualifications.
  • A certified copy of your Identity Document.

Important Advice for Applicants and Prospective Employees:

  1. Number and Submission of Applications: Do not delay your submission until the last minute on the closing date to avoid the rush.
  2. Breakdown of Posts Per Region: Submit only one application per person. Do not apply separately for each region or area mentioned in the advert, as multiple applications will complicate the processing and may cause delays. Note that capturing all applications is a mandatory requirement under the Local Government: Municipal Staff Regulations.
  3. Phased-In Appointments and Right Not to Appoint: While there are 450 job opportunities advertised, some service delivery units may still rely on contracted services. Appointments will follow a phased-in approach, and the MMM reserves the right not to fill all positions.
