About the Role:
The Road Accident Fund seeks a detail-oriented Legal Secretary to support our Legal Services Department in Johannesburg. This critical role ensures efficient court operations and provides comprehensive administrative support to legal teams handling motor accident compensation cases.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Secretarial Support
- Prepare and proofread court documents (summonses, affidavits, pleadings)
- Transcribe legal dictation and maintain court documentation
- Coordinate with State Attorneys regarding court roll management
- Maintain confidential case files and discovery binders
- Facilitate communication between legal teams and external stakeholders
Office Management
- Manage diary scheduling and court date coordination
- Handle document control including filing and retrieval systems
- Process foreign national claims documentation for reinsurance
- Maintain office supplies and equipment
Administrative Excellence
- Prepare meeting agendas and maintain action trackers
- Coordinate travel arrangements and event logistics
- Handle sensitive information with discretion
- Ensure compliance with RAF policies and court procedures
Requirements:
- National Diploma in Business Administration/Law (NQF 6)
- 2+ years’ experience in legal administration environment
- Advanced skills in MS Office Suite and legal databases
- Excellent command of English and one other official language
- In-depth knowledge of court processes and civil procedure

- Proficient in legal research and document drafting
