Legal Coordinator (Temporary Contract)

Position Purpose
This critical role maintains organizational compliance through effective contract management system oversight and provides comprehensive legal/policy support across all NFVF departments. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to South Africa’s regulatory framework while supporting the Foundation’s mission in the audiovisual industry.
Essential Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree
- Experience: Minimum 2 years legal/compliance experience
- Preferred Credentials: Admitted Attorney status (advantageous)
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of PFMA, BBBEE, POPI, PAIA, and procurement regulations
Primary Responsibilities
Legal Framework Management
- Conduct thorough legal research on audiovisual industry regulations
- Implement policy updates based on regulatory changes
- Monitor compliance with industry-specific legislation
Policy Development & Implementation
- Review and identify gaps in organizational policies
- Support development of new governance frameworks
- Facilitate staff training on policy compliance
Contract System Administration
- Draft and review legal agreements (service contracts, MOUs, addendums)
- Maintain up-to-date contract templates and registry
- Verify compliance documentation accuracy
Regulatory Compliance Monitoring
- Track legislative developments affecting the creative sector
- Assist in preparing regulatory submissions
- Support audit preparation processes
