Description of the practices

The Gender and HIV Intern will work closely with the project team and country office operations and program groups, government officials, private sector, non-governmental and civil society organizations.


Supports the Gender portfolio in the preparation for the internal certification process of the UNDP Gender Seal: coordinating meetings of the Gender Focus Team, taking minutes and records, compiling, filing and uploading evidence.
It supports the projects of the gender portfolio on the incorporation of the gender perspective in the programs and operations of the CO Gender Seal for the Public Sector; GBV, Budgets with a gender perspective. Offer administrative support, contribute to the drafting of concept notes, terms of reference and minutes, liaison with partners and any other function assigned in this portfolio.
Support the HIV portfolio by offering administrative support, contributing to concept note writing, TOR taking minutes, communications, website update, partner liaison and any other tasks assigned in this portfolio.
Support for the contribution of the Gender and HIV portfolio to the joint activities of the UN country team
Requirements / Education:

Studying for or a degree preferably in:

gender studies,
Public health,
social Sciences
or other related field
Skills and competencies:

Clear understanding and knowledge of gender and gender mainstreaming and public health, with a focus on HIV and AIDS in a developing country context.
Ability to make new and useful ideas work.
Ability to listen, adapt, persuade and transform in a culturally diverse environment
Ability and evidence to do things.
Ability to efficiently manage and share information and knowledge.
Good analytical and writing skills, and the ability to package detailed and complex information in simple formats for a diverse audience
Knowledge / Experience:

Knowledge in report writing and design of tools for data collection, analysis and report production;
Good interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills.
Knowledge in database management.
Analytical knowledge, including knowledge of Microsoft applications.
