Position Summary

Seeking a qualified technician to monitor water quality in the Vaal River catchment area, protect raw water resources, and support drinking water safety initiatives across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct water quality monitoring in Vaal Dam and Vaal River Barrage
• Identify environmental risks and pollution sources in catchment areas
• Implement water resource management strategies
• Analyze and interpret water quality data
• Support water safety planning and risk assessments
• Maintain catchment monitoring systems
• Collaborate with municipal and industrial stakeholders

Requirements

• Degree in Environmental Science/Engineering or related field
• 3-5 years’ experience in water management
• Valid driver’s license
• Understanding of water legislation and treatment processes
• Proficiency in data analysis and GIS systems
• Strong fieldwork capability
