Ward Based Educator: Data Capturer

Requirements

Duties

  • Capture data accurately and analyze it while working under pressure
  • Possess good communication skills (verbal and written) and strong interpersonal relations
  • Capture, compile, sort, and verify the accuracy of data collected daily, weekly, and monthly
  • Prepare reports for submission to the coordinator or supervisor
  • Have basic knowledge of HIV and training in HIV/AIDS counseling
  • Possess basic knowledge of TB
  • Lead a team of field workers
  • Plan and consolidate team plans
  • Execute and monitor activities of field workers
  • Write numerical and narrative reports
  • Have experience working in communities and leading teams
  • Be ward-based (specify CCC and ward number). Must be a Lesedi Local Municipality resident and based in the community served, specifying the ward number

Core Responsibilities

  • Build AIDS-competent communities and individuals at the ward level
  • Reduce new HIV infections through information, education, communication, and services to support behavior change
  • Reduce the socio-economic impact of AIDS on affected and infected families by providing care and support
  • Increase support for people on Tuberculosis and Antiretroviral Treatment to promote treatment compliance
  • Promote safe and healthy lifestyles through education on HIV/AIDS and related health issues
  • Facilitate openness and acceptance of people living with HIV/AIDS
  • Promote municipal and governance initiatives and services around HIV/AIDS, including key programs such as HIV Counseling and Testing Services (HTS), Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT), Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), Antiretroviral Treatment (ART) program, and other health services
  • Identify and refer orphans and vulnerable children, as well as child-headed households
  • Lead a team of field workers
