Job Description

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in our department. We are looking for a talented individual with relevant skills and experience for an Artisan Utilities: Electrical role, based in Pretoria. The successful candidate will report directly to the Team Leader Utilities in Pretoria. The role involves maintaining, inspecting, adjusting, and repairing line equipment to improve efficiency, optimize availability, and minimize losses and risks.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Planned Maintenance

  • Attend maintenance planning meetings, share suggestions, and clarify required work.
  • Perform work during planned maintenance windows according to the schedule from the planner.
  • If scheduled work cannot be completed, report to the Maintenance Planner for guidance on rescheduling or prioritizing.
  • Assist team members during planned maintenance periods.
  • Complete administration and SAP tasks related to planned maintenance.
  • Participate in maintenance reviews to discuss problems, opportunities, and lessons learned.

Routine Maintenance

  • Perform cleaning, lubrication, and inspections as per the maintenance schedule.
  • Carry out routine maintenance activities according to the schedule.
  • Resolve issues found during routine maintenance using problem-solving techniques. Request additional resources if needed.
  • Conduct condition monitoring tasks as assigned in the CM schedule.

Running Repairs

  • Assist in or perform running repairs on plant and equipment as requested, or support Shift Artisans.
  • Assess problems and decide on the best course of action for repairs.
  • Call in specialists if required, such as internal Instrument Technicians or external contractors.
  • If repairs need major work like re-wiring a motor, transfer to the engineering workshop.
  • Verify that repairs have resolved the issues.
  • Complete all related administration, including SAP entries.
  • If repairs cannot be done immediately, inform the Maintenance Planner for planning in the next window.

Problem Solving

  • Apply appropriate problem-solving methods to resolve issues during routine activities.
  • Request additional resources or escalate to the Engineering Controller if needed.
  • Help team members solve problems when asked.
  • Participate in Failure and Fix Action (FFA) reviews as required.

Housekeeping and Safety

  • Work safely at all times and report any unsafe practices for correction.
  • Follow all legal, NOSA, environmental, and other relevant regulations.
  • Adhere to work instructions, SAB policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and apply 5S principles in all tasks.

General

  • Start up, operate, and maintain equipment including:
    • 11kV / 380V transformers and reticulation
    • 7 and 40 bar air compressors and driers
    • Steam Boilers
    • Refrigeration plants
    • Water treatment (Nano and RO)
    • Pumps, gearboxes, filters
  • Implement small capital projects when requested.
  • Allocate and monitor delegated work.
  • Manage personal development and performance.

Skills, Experience & Education

  • Recognized Trade Test qualification in Electrical and a single and three-phase wireman’s licence.
  • 4-5 years relevant technical experience in an FMCG environment.
