Job Summary

Unitrans is seeking experienced professional bus drivers to transport passengers on scheduled services. The driver will manage vehicle controls, ensure passenger safety, and adhere to all traffic laws and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the bus safely and efficiently on established routes.
• Control lighting, heating, and ventilation for passenger comfort.
• Follow prescribed speeds, traffic signals, and road conditions.
• Ensure passengers arrive on time and in a safe manner.
• Maintain a clean and well‑maintained vehicle.
• Inspect the bus for defects and report any deviations.
• Complete log books and record all incidents or accidents.
• Adhere to traffic laws, company SMS policy, and HST regulations.
• Participate in training, DSS sessions, and safety briefings.
• Register passengers and manage boarding procedures.
• Report any damage or incidents to management promptly.
• Follow all safety procedures, including seat belt use, wheel chocks, and ignition key control.
• Do not deviate from routes or make unauthorized stops.
• Maintain a positive attitude toward customers.

Requirements

• Minimum education: Grade 12 or National Certificate.
• Valid driving licence: CE – G, CE – PG, or C – G.
• Public Services Driving Licence (PG) and PrDP.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of defensive and preventive driving techniques.
• Strong understanding of traffic laws and company policies.
