About the Role

The Engineer Trainee will support the Site Engineering Manager in improving production processes and ensuring high quality and efficiency in our packing cells. The role focuses on applying World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methods to reduce waste, improve output, and build operator capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply WCM tools (AM, PM, FI, QC) to identify and eliminate losses.
  • Collect and analyse data to find root causes of problems.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Balance production lines and evaluate bottlenecks.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and technical standards.
  • Train operators on AM/PM standards and machine settings.
  • Support trials for innovations, renovations, and 5S initiatives.
  • Track OEE and set baselines for change impact.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 2–3 years in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Experience with WCM/Lean Manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with high‑speed packaging machinery preferred.
  • BSc or BTech in Mechanical Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
  • Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.).

  • Line balancing and bottleneck analysis.
  • OEE monitoring and improvement.

  • Team collaboration and communication.
