Ultra-Heavy Motor Vehicle Driver

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 10 qualification
  • Strong verbal and numerical literacy
  • Valid Code EC driver’s license with PrDP (DGP)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience driving ultra-heavy vehicles
  • Must be 25 years or older
  • Willingness to work weekends and public holidays
  • Knowledge of defensive driving
  • Understanding of vehicle components and emergency procedures
  • Experience with vehicle inspections and fire extinguisher operation
  • Ability to maximize vehicle efficiency
  • Efficient vehicle loading techniques
  • Experience with dry bulk tankers

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate ultra-heavy vehicles for transportation duties
  • Load, transport, and offload goods safely
  • Maintain necessary documentation and complete additional tasks
  • Follow all instructions from supervisors
  • Work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Maintain a clean driving record and criminal history
  • Keep vehicles, uniforms, and PPE clean and orderly
  • Adhere to SOPs and safety procedures
  • Complete medical evaluations, USCS training, and induction processes
  • Pass practical driving assessments
  • Ensure compliance with the National Road Traffic Act
  • Oversee or operate offloading equipment
  • Secure loads before departure
  • Handle tarpaulins when needed
  • Interact professionally with clients
