Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a high-caliber Ultra-heavy Motor Vehicle Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for distributing goods to various clients in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Requirements

  • Grade 11, Matric, or Senior Certificate
  • Grade 10 literacy level (verbally and numerically literate)
  • Code EC driver’s license with valid PrDP (GP)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience driving an Ultra Heavy Vehicle
  • Must be 25 years of age or older
  • Willingness to work weekends and public holidays
  • Defensive driving techniques knowledge
  • Understanding of vehicle components and their functions
  • Familiarity with emergency and defect reporting procedures
  • Ability to conduct vehicle inspections and operate a fire extinguisher
  • Focus on vehicle cost-effectiveness and efficiency
  • Knowledge of vehicle loading techniques
  • Own transport

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare the vehicle for trips and operate Ultra Heavy Duty Vehicles
  • Load, transport, and offload goods
  • Handle required documentation and perform ancillary duties
  • Follow all reasonable instructions from the Supervisor
  • Work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required
  • Maintain a clean criminal record and a safe driving record
  • Keep vehicles, uniforms, and PPE clean and well-maintained
  • Adhere to SOPs and safety procedures
  • Complete medical evaluation, USCS training modules, induction, and practical driving evaluation
  • Ensure the vehicle is not overloaded as per the National Road Traffic Act
  • Oversee or operate offloading equipment during unloading
  • Secure the load before departure
  • Open and close tarpaulins where necessary
  • Interact with customers in a professional and efficient manner
