Job Description

<p(Unitrans is seeking a highly skilled Ultra-heavy motor vehicle driver to distribute goods to various clients. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading company in the supply chain solutions industry.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric / Senior Certificate
• Grade 10 literacy level (Verbal and Numerical)
• Code EC driver’s license with valid PrDP (DGP)
• Minimum 3 years of experience driving Ultra Heavy Vehicles
• Must be 25 years of age or older
• Willingness to work weekends and public holidays
• Proficiency in defensive driving techniques
• Knowledge of vehicle components and their functions

<li Awareness of emergency and defect reporting procedures

• Ability to perform vehicle inspections and operate fire extinguishers
• Skills in maximizing vehicle efficiency and cost-effectiveness
• Understanding of vehicle loading techniques

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for trips and operate Ultra Heavy Vehicles.
• Load, transport, and offload goods efficiently.
• Handle necessary documentation and additional duties as required.
• Follow all instructions from the Supervisor.
• Work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when needed.
• Maintain a clean criminal record and safe driving record.
• Keep vehicles, uniforms, and PPE in good condition.
• Adhere to SOPs and Safety Procedures.
• Successfully complete medical evaluation, USCS training, induction, and practical driving evaluation.
• Ensure the vehicle is not overloaded according to the National Road Traffic Act.
• Oversee or operate offloading equipment during unloading.
• Secure loads before departure and manage tarpaulins when needed.
• Interact with customers professionally and efficiently.
