Job Description

Magnis UD Trucks Pretoria East is looking for an Apprentice – Level Year 1. The role reports to the Service Manager and focuses on repairing trucks and buses to dealer and distributor standards. The apprentice will work efficiently and safely, ensuring high quality service for customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Use diagnostic equipment to examine vehicles.
• Follow DCSA procedures and keep accurate records.
• Explain faults and solutions clearly to customers.
• Work safely with vehicles and maintain a clean work area.
• Limit vehicle downtime and handle breakdown calls.
• Return vehicles to customers in clean, neat condition.
• Sign out parts from the parts department and return unused parts.
• Choose the most cost‑effective repair solution.
• Provide fault‑finding and diagnostic services to support mechanics.
• Complete all required forms and documentation.
• Prepare reports as needed.
• Support promotional campaigns and training sessions.
• Keep work area and overalls tidy at all times.
• Submit job cards to the service advisor promptly and record repair time accurately.
• Attend training courses offered by Daimler and Cargo Motors.
• Assist with other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 – Maths and Physical Science.
• N2 – Engineering Science, Technical Drawing, Maths, Diesel Trade Theory.
