Tutor/Training Officer: Fire and Hazmat

Position Details

  • Experience: 6+ years operational firefighting

Required Qualifications

  • Matric Certificate/NQF Level 4 equivalent
  • Diploma in Fire Technology
  • Fire Fighter I & II Certification
  • Hazmat Awareness & Operations Certification
  • Basic Ambulance Assistant (HPCSA-registered)
  • Valid Code C Driver’s License with PrDP
  • Fire Service Instructor Level 1 Certification
  • Pumps/Aerial Operator Certification

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive fire safety training programs
  • Conduct theoretical and practical instruction in hazardous materials handling
  • Manage training resources and equipment maintenance
  • Oversee professional development initiatives
  • Lead emergency response operations when required
  • Implement community safety education programs
  • Ensure compliance with municipal safety regulations

Professional Requirements

  • Proven emergency response experience
  • Strong instructional capabilities
  • Excellent situational judgment
  • Physical fitness for emergency operations
  • Valid medical clearance certificate
