Program Options:

1. Graduate Internship Programme (GIP)
– Contract type: Fixed Term (Full-time/Part-time)
– Fields: Graphic Design, Data Science, Digital Marketing, Computer Engineering, Sport Science, Industrial Engineering
– Requirements: Completed 3-year Diploma/National Diploma from accredited institution

2. Infrastructure Skills Development Grants (ISDG)
– 3-Year Contract Positions

Specialized Roles:

Geographic Information Systems:
• GIS/Geomatics/Geo-informatics qualification required
• SAGC registration preparation preferred
• Python skills advantageous

Urban Planning:
• SACPLAN-accredited degree (4-year BA/Masters)
• Professional registration eligibility
• ArcGIS proficiency required

General Requirements:

  • South African citizens under 35 years
  • Cape Town residency
  • Not enrolled in conflicting studies (except PhD/Doctoral)
  • No automatic employment guarantee post-program

Program Benefits:

  • Practical municipal operations exposure
  • Skills enhancement for employment readiness
  • Hourly stipend: R57.62 – R118.05 (subject to budget)
