Forensic & Digital Investigations Trainer
(2-Year Fixed Term Contract)

The Special Investigating Unit (SIU), an independent statutory body established under Act No. 74 of 1996, seeks a qualified professional to join our team. The SIU’s mandate focuses on investigating corruption, malpractice, and maladministration in state institutions and conducting civil recovery processes.

Position Overview

Role Purpose: Deliver expert training in forensic and digital investigations to anti-corruption agencies across South Africa, SADC, and continental partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and present training programs covering:
    • Digital forensics & cyber investigations
    • Cryptocurrency tracing & open-source intelligence
    • AI-assisted investigations & procurement audits
    • Beneficial ownership analysis
  • Assess trainee performance using digital learning platforms
  • Collaborate with international cybercrime experts on curriculum development
  • Maintain updated knowledge of:
    • Financial crime legislation
    • Anti-corruption investigation techniques
    • Emerging digital investigation trends

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Forensic Investigations, LLB, or related field
  • 5+ years practical training experience in forensic/digital investigations
  • Valid accreditation as Trainer & Assessor
  • Proven expertise in financial crime investigations
