About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Operator Packing to join our team in Pietermaritzburg. The role focuses on monitoring packing machines, ensuring product quality, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate packing machines to meet production targets.
• Set up and adjust machines for optimal performance.
• Ensure all products meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
• Coordinate bin availability and perform bin cleaning tasks.
• Operate mechanical hoists and block‑and‑tackle within certified capacity limits.
• Execute daily cleaning plans, including climbing into bins or using scaffolding and bucket seats.
• Scrape, scour, and brush bin walls and hoppers with hand tools.
• Fumigate bin interiors using insecticides, rodent deterrents, or poisons with a spray gun.
• Secure bins during fumigation to prevent accidental exposure.
• Complete daily reports and maintain accurate operational records.
• Follow fumigation standards and cleaning SOPs.
• Respond to quality control and assurance findings.
• Report non‑conformance and take corrective action.
• Meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Apply good manufacturing practices in the work area.
• Use cleaning materials responsibly to maintain high hygiene standards.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
• Participate in InfoCom sessions and weekly/monthly stock counts.
• Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective measures.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 with Maths and Science (preferred).
• Experience in a technical or operational environment is desirable.
• Commitment to Tiger Brands’ employment equity plan and goals.
