Work Description
The Study Co-ordinator is responsible to manage operations of assigned Project(s) within the Division. The Study Co-ordinator must implement and manage all assigned Projects according to designed protocols, grant contracts and standards. This will require the Study Co-ordinator to design systems for the implementation of Projects as well as to ensure that Quality Control Systems are in place and to manage Projects according to specified standards of both Aurum and Funders. The Study Co-ordinator also needs to report regularly against progress on Research Projects and disseminate results to the relevant Stakeholders.Technical Work Responsibilities
Liaise with Internal and External Customers/Stakeholders
Management and co-ordination of Studies through effective Project Management
Performance management
Develop and manage recruitment and retention strategies for Studies
Prepare and implement all study SOPs, study files, and additional study forms related to study implementation
Development and maintenance of Organizational and Work flow Systems
Resource management
Cost control
Reporting and record-keeping
Research-related administrative duties
Human capital management

Duties
Build sound relationships with Funders and Outcome Stakeholders
Where required, act as Investigator for Grant applications and awards
Support the Organisation in ad hoc Internal Projects
Represent the Business when necessary with External Stakeholders
Act as Aurum Brand Ambassador at all times
Design Systems for the implementation of Projects
Ensure that Quality Control systems are in place
Measure performance against Plans to provide feedback to the Management Team
Conduct quantitative or qualitative analyses as required
Report progress to Stakeholders (Funders, Collaborators, Clients) on a regular basis
Present Research/Programme outcomes to Stakeholders
Conduct Research/Programme implementation according to the framework of the research protocol and within established technical strategy, plan policies and procedures
Adhere to quality and ethical principles in all Research and Projects
Measure performance against protocols
Participating in continuous scientific activities which include Journal Club, Mentorship Programmes
Clarify Employee work/role descriptions, targets and goals to perform their functions, and that Client/Stakeholder needs and requirements are integrated into all work related practices
Manage resources, skills, tools, equipment, and information to successfully execute on their responsibilities
Manage Employee performance and create opportunities for personal growth and development
Align future Talent needs through effective succession planning and capacity building initiatives (i.e. training, mentorship, coaching etc.), and advise Employees on career opportunities and the requirements to achieve personal growth
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures according to prescribed procedures and legislation
Report all unsafe activities to Senior Management/Human Resources
Adhere and maintain Decision making authority as allocated to the position
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals

Requirements
Education
Diploma in Public Health or Registration with South African Nursing Council as a professional nurse or related field
Advanced diploma in Primary Health Care
HIV/AIDS certificate
Couple Counselling CertificateAdvantageous
University degree
Valid GCP Certification
Clinical trial experience

Experience
Min 1 – 2 years’ experience in Public Health Research

Requirements
Project management
Proficient personal computer skills
SA Citizen or valid work permit to work in South Africa
Valid Driver’s License
Own car
Minimal/Moderate/Excessive overnight travel (up to 30%) by land or air if required
Willing to work overtime
