Position Purpose

The Systems Analyst will design and implement IT solutions to meet business needs, focusing on the development and maintenance of Transnet Port Terminals’ (TPT) Terminal Operating System (TOS). This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to plan, design, and implement TOS-specific solutions, ensuring smooth system operations that align with business requirements.

Position Outputs

• Define system requirements, design specifications, and systems documentation
• Develop data models and technical designs following application development standards
• Conduct software code reviews, development, and testing
• Participate in the full lifecycle of TOS planning, design, configuration, testing, and implementation
• Provide cost estimates, feasibility studies, and budget requirements
• Track time allocation for project management and capitalization purposes
• Maintain and update technical documentation
• Adhere to technical configurations and related policies
• Ensure compliance with TOS-related policies and change management procedures
• Perform thorough functional testing of solutions and TOS versions

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant qualification (NQF 6/7) or National Diploma advantageous
• Minimum 5 years of relevant development experience in Oracle/APEX, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or specialist role
• Understanding of EDI international best practices, project management methodologies, business analysis, and system analysis
• Strong knowledge of ICT environments, enterprise information systems, and ICT support

competencies

• Proficiency in report writing techniques, configuration management, and troubleshooting
