Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or a relevant post-matric qualification, preferably NTC 3 in Water Treatment or Wastewater Treatment.
- Trade-related qualification: Operator’s certificate / Wastewater Treatment Practice (N3).
- Code B driver’s license.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience.

Key Performance Areas:
- Follow all processes as required by Blue Drop standards to ensure water meets quality requirements.
- Weigh and measure chemicals before mixing.
- Introduce dosage into the process without issues.
- Perform laboratory testing using prescribed methods, ensuring equipment and chemicals meet specifications.
- Follow correct sequences for stacking and receiving chemicals.
- Maintain the plant and equipment properly.
- Monitor the SCADA Telemetry System and report any anomalies.
- Monitor the telemetry and CCTV systems, report anomalies, and take action as needed.
- Keep accurate records of all processes, monitoring, and water testing.
- Handle visits from the public or government bodies according to plant regulations.
- Ensure all safety requirements are met in the workplace.
- Maintain effective communication channels for sharing information.
Special Conditions:
- Work in all weather conditions.
- Work outside normal hours during emergencies, including unplanned overtime and shift duties.
- Work under pressure.
- Deep knowledge of treatment technologies, water engineering practices, mechanical and electrical equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of process water analysis and interpreting results.
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant regulations.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, including local dialects.
- Working knowledge of risk-based management, operation, control, and monitoring.
