Supervisor Tree Team Position

Organization: City of Tshwane Municipality

Position Type: Full-Time
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Department: Urban Forestry Section (Region 4)

Role Purpose:

Ensure environmental sustainability through proactive and reactive tree maintenance operations across Tshwane.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum Grade 10 certification
  • 6+ months experience in urban forestry operations
  • Valid Chainsaw Operator certification
  • Code C1 driver’s license with valid PDP
  • Physical fitness for working at heights
  • Clean criminal record (verification required post-employment)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerial Platform Operator certification

Key Competencies:

  • Strong technical skills in tree maintenance
  • Effective communication abilities
  • Ability to work in challenging environments (heights, dust, noise)

Working Conditions:

  • Shift work required
  • Overtime and standby duties as needed
