Qualifications and experience required:

  • Grade 9 or equivalent technical qualification.
  • A valid Code C1 driver’s licence with PrDP (will be advantageous).
  • One to two years’ relevant experience required.

  • The physical attributes associated with this post necessitate that the incumbent is physically fit and able-bodied to perform the relevant functions. Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit themselves to the Municipal Medical Doctor for a medical examination as part of the selection process.
  • The successful candidate will be required to work overtime as and when required, work shifts, and work in all weather conditions.

Job purpose:

  • Perform tasks associated with supervising and controlling personnel undertaking tasks with the minor maintenance of roads, verges, storm water drainage, and payments. Identify, communicate, and apply contingency measures in accordance with instructions to minimise specific problems or defects. Guide personnel on routine operational activities and support specialist personnel with the execution of repair and maintenance sequences.
  • As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill, or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting, and psychometric assessment.
