Education Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate (Essential)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Education, Community Development or Social Sciences (NQF Level 7)
  • Postgraduate Qualification (Preferred)

Professional Experience:

  • 7-9 years’ experience in social development sector
  • Minimum 6 years in management role
  • 3+ years direct experience with child development programs (0-18 years)

Key Competencies:

  • Valid Code 8 Driver’s License
  • Advanced understanding of municipal financial legislation
  • Proven expertise in program design & implementation
  • Strong leadership & team management capabilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead city-wide child development initiatives
  • Develop age-specific programs (0-18 years)
  • Ensure legislative compliance across all services
  • Manage R50M+ budget and resource allocation
  • Oversee cross-departmental collaborations
  • Implement performance management systems

Technical Requirements:

  • Advanced Report Writing Skills
  • Municipal Financial Management
  • Stakeholder Engagement Strategies
  • Data-Driven Program Evaluation
