Dis-Chem Pharmacies require a Store Driver for store in Paarl Mall, Paarl. You will be responsible for delivering goods to customers in a timely, productive and professional manner.Minimum Requirements:Essential:Grade 12 / MatricDriver’s licenseWilling and able to work retail hours and/or shiftsAdvantageous:Previous experience in a similar role Job Description:Safely transport products to customer locations in a timely, safe and courteous mannerBe open to learning the various dispatch functionsEnsure the correct products are delivered to the correct customer within the specified timeEnsure that fridge line deliveries are prioritised and transported using cooler boxes and cold packsUse the shortest and most efficient route to the customer, and back to the storeReturn back to the store immediately after delivery, so the vehicle can be utilised for a second or third deliveryEnsure that after completion of delivery, that the vehicle is repacked to prevent boxes from falling and damaging the stock or vehicleBe fully accountable for all damages and losses through the delivery processProvide special care when delivering fragile and hazardous productsComply with minimum standards of efficiency and accuracy, in order to meet company standardsFollow delivery/pickup instructions from managerEnsure that all collections/store returns / inter-branches are correctly checked, signed for and returned to the receiving areaEnsure all delivery paperwork is signed upon deliveryEnsure to have the correct names and addresses of customersEnsure all invoices recorded on the delivery log sheet, are available and correctly recordedEnsure all invoices are signed in the correct manner and to report any discrepancies to the relevant managerComply with the company vehicle policy at all timesComplete and maintain an accurate vehicle logbookProcess payments on all transactions via EFT and cashEnsure that the vehicle is never unattended during the delivery processEnsure the vehicle is clean and washedInspect the vehicle for any defects and safe operating conditions before, during and after trips; and report any concerns to the managerReport on all accidents and incidents involving drivers or company equipmentAdhere to the road traffic rules and regulations as per the National Road Traffic ActBe responsible for any traffic fines allocated to the vehicle you driveCreate effective and efficient relationships with internal and external customers to improve operating efficienciesEstablish long-term customer relationship through prompt and courteous serviceEnsure professional behaviour when dealing with customersReport customer complaints, compliments, requests to management, and provide feedback Competencies:Essential:Strong command of the English languagePresentableEffective engagement with customers, management and staffTrustworthy and honestTime managementAdvantageous:BilingualReport bad/suspicious behaviour relating to both staff and customers Special conditions of employment:Willing and able to work retail hours and/or shiftsWilling and able to work outdoors, and in various weather conditionsAble and physically fit to lift and move heavy boxes, and ensure health and safety standards are adhered toReliable transport and/or reside in close proximity to the storeSouth African citizenClear credit and criminal records Remuneration and benefits:Market-related salaryMedical aidProvident fundStaff account ONLY SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL BE CONTACTED.
