Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for an experienced Cleaner for the new Jumbo Mall store. You will keep the store clean and neat according to Dis-Chem’s hygiene standards. This includes the store floor, stock room, dispensary, admin office, and canteen.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • At least 6 months of cleaning experience
  • Good command of English
  • Basic customer service skills
  • Knowledge of an additional local language
  • Willing to work retail hours

Advantageous:

  • Bilingual
  • Previous experience cleaning in a retail store

Job Specification

  • Maintain high hygiene and cleanliness in the store, shop floor, and communal areas before opening.
  • Create routines to keep all areas clean to a high standard.
  • Keep the canteen and restrooms clean and stocked with supplies.
  • Be ready to clean during operational hours as needed.
  • Use the right cleaning products and equipment for each task.
  • Place wet floor signs visibly when mopping.
  • Be friendly and professional, and help customers when required.
  • Follow health and safety regulations.
