Dis-Chem Pharmacies, a leading pharmaceutical retailer in South Africa, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Store Cleaner at their Amanzimtoti location.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment across all areas of the store, including the shop floor, stock room, dispensary, admin office, and canteen. This role requires a commitment to upholding Dis-Chem’s high standards of cleanliness and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the store, including the shop floor and communal areas, before the store opens.
• Develop and follow cleaning routines to ensure all areas are consistently clean.
• Ensure the canteen and restrooms are clean and well-stocked with necessary products at all times.
• Be available to clean as needed during operational hours.
• Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment for specific tasks.
• Ensure wet floor signs are visible when cleaning.
• Provide friendly and professional customer assistance.
• Adhere to Health and Safety Regulations.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric certification.
• At least 6 months of cleaning experience.
• Strong understanding of English (written and spoken).
• Basic customer service skills.
• Ability to speak an additional language (area-specific).
• Willingness to work retail hours.

Advantageous

• Bilingualism.
• Previous experience in retail store cleaning.

• Physical fitness for tasks like walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, and lifting.
• Reliable transport or proximity to the store.
• South African citizenship.
