Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for an experienced cleaner for its Cape Gate store. You will keep the store clean and tidy according to Dis-Chem’s hygiene standards. This includes the shop floor, stock room, dispensary, admin office, and canteen.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • At least 6 months of cleaning experience
  • Good command of English
  • Basic customer service skills
  • An additional language spoken in the area
  • Willing to work retail hours

Advantageous:

  • Bilingual
  • Previous experience cleaning in a retail store

Job Specification

  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the store, shop floor, and communal areas before opening.
  • Create routines to keep all store areas clean.
  • Keep the canteen and restrooms clean and stocked with supplies at all times.
  • Be ready to clean during store hours as needed.
  • Use the right cleaning products and tools for each task.
  • Put up wet floor signs on both ends when mopping.
  • Be friendly and professional, and help customers if required.
  • Follow health and safety rules.
