They will be responsible for developing inventory tracking systems, reviewing levels of supplies and performing daily analysis.

A successful Stock Controller has outstanding record-keeping and analytical abilities. The chosen candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to interpret and analyse large amounts of data

Experience, Skills & Requirements:

  • Inventory studies, experience & roles
  • Must understand inventory and what checks must be done in order to reconcile variances
  • Strong Excel skills, and focus on detail
  • ERP such as Sage Evolution, Pastel Partner
  • CHEP system understanding and experience
  • WMS (Warehouse Management System) experience
  • Ability to analyse and problem solve
  • Strong team work and communication skills with internal teams, as well as customers and outsourced warehouse and distribution partners


  • Maintaining and updating stock records across 13 warehouses
  • Rectify incorrect transactions in order to balance variances
  • Constant feedback on the inventory imbalances, shortages etc
  • Follow ups with warehouses for information and documents or Internal Encore staff to complete corrections; this will require building strong relationships with the various warehouse teams
  • Reporting on all discrepancies between physical counts and ERP / WMS system values
  • Developing and improving upon inventory procedures
  • Assist in development of Cost reports
  • Keeping track of all write offs / losses and create reports around this value
  • Manage Staff Sales / Salvaging: track orders & payments,
  • Keep track of short dated items, once approved to sell, work out sell pricing, and ensure cash sales invoices are done as well as record of payments received.
  • Data capturing and filing
  • Travel to warehouses around RSA, and weekend stock takes may be required, especially over quarterly or annual year ends
  • Work hours may vary and require longer hours at times based on stock take and stock balancing requirements
  • Assisting Orders and Claims teams should the need arise, as well as other functions such as (but not limited to) invoicing and transport cost allocations
