Breede Valley Municipality is a Western Cape government institution established under the Municipal Structures Act. We provide essential emergency services to protect lives and property in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Emergency Control Centre (ECC) & Emergency Operations Centre (EOC)
- Oversee technical safety operations and resource management
- Coordinate fleet maintenance and equipment inventory
- Ensure compliance with Fire Brigade Services Act and safety regulations
- Supervise support staff and emergency communication systems
- Develop service improvement plans and operational procedures
- Maintain Occupational Health & Safety standards
Requirements:
- National Diploma in Fire Service Technology/Engineering (SAESI/IFE equivalent)
- Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
- Valid C1 Driver’s License with PrDP
- 6+ years fire service experience
- Proficiency in two Western Cape official languages
- Strong computer skills (MS Office)
- Clear criminal record and medical fitness
Selection Process:

– Written examination
– Scenario-based computer test
– Physical evaluation
