Position Details
- Employment Type: Full Time
- Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree/National Diploma in Accounting/Finance
- Experience Required: 1+ year in Accounting/Audit/Finance/Supply Chain
- Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
- Salary Range: R300,000 – R400,000 per annum
Position Purpose
Manage departmental asset systems and processes as part of the Western Cape Government’s infrastructure team.
Key Requirements
- 3-year Accounting/Finance diploma or degree
- Experience with asset management systems
- Code B driver’s license (or transport access for applicants with disabilities)
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain asset management systems/policies
- Manage strategic asset plans aligned with departmental budgets
- Maintain accurate asset registers and verification processes
- Oversee asset lifecycle management from acquisition to disposal
- Ensure compliance with PFMA, SCOA, and other financial regulations
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in LOGIS and government accounting systems
- Strong analytical and organizational capabilities
- Effective communication skills (written/verbal)
- Time management and deadline compliance
