Salary
- Grade 1: R 220 614 – R 250 500 per annum (OSD)
- Grade 2: R 262 287 – R 298 932 per annum (OSD)
- Grade 3: R 306 798 – R 382 107 per annum (OSD)
Requirements
- A qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Staff Nurse.
- Current registration with SANC as a Staff Nurse.
- Grade 1: No experience required.
- Grade 2: At least 10 years of appropriate nursing experience after registering as a Staff Nurse.
- Grade 3: At least 20 years of appropriate nursing experience after registering as a Staff Nurse.
Duties
- Perform tasks and roles effectively under the guidance of a Professional Nurse, as required by the Nursing Act.
- Provide nursing care, including routine and defined tasks such as:
- Follow nursing care plans for patients.
- Check vital signs and watch for reactions to medications and treatments.
- Help maintain patient hygiene, comfort, and emotional support.
- Oversee and support fluid balance, oxygen levels, and sensory needs of patients.
- Assist in wound healing, fracture care, and skin protection.
- Prepare for and help with diagnostic and treatment procedures by registered professionals.
- Support ward-specific procedures and anesthesia preparations.
- Care for dying and deceased patients.
- Guide family members or friends to the right contacts for questions or support in bereavement.
- Work with the nurse in charge to ensure a safe environment for standard care practices.
- Assist medical and other nursing staff as needed.
