Position Purpose
- Provide technical SAP Basis system support and advice. Help with the continuous improvement, development, and upgrading of SAP systems and delivery channels, including SAP FI/CO, SAP Logistics, SAP Portal, SRM, BW, SOLMAN, MIL, CRM, PI, PPM, and PI.
- Offer technical leadership, support, and guidance to junior staff to build their skills and knowledge.
Position Outputs
- Provide technical leadership, support, and guidance to junior personnel.
- Ensure skills growth and knowledge sharing to meet organizational objectives.
- Offer expert troubleshooting and fault finding for problems that junior teams cannot resolve.
- Assist and support the team in identifying and implementing methods to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide support to the team in areas such as project execution, design, and job estimation.
- Promote effective communication and working relations within the team, with customers, and with other support services.
- Develop team members to improve customer service and reduce the risk of unexpected departures.
- Perform system performance monitoring and tuning, capacity management, upgrades, patching, and technology updates.
- Maintain system availability, compliance, and security according to best practices and service level agreements.
- Ensure effective security, operation, and peak performance of SAP environments.
- Maintain the SAP infrastructure, including installations of SAP and database upgrades.
- Administer the SAP landscape and keep an error-free operating environment.
- Assist SAP developers with development activities, problems, and questions.
- Design and modify the SAP architecture to handle changing hardware, software, and workload.
- Manage the Basis team in areas such as developing customer support processes, technical planning, and work coordination.
- Manage Basis support projects, including scheduling work, ensuring resource availability, and maintaining deliverable quality.
- Provide input and assistance to other IT projects.
- Offer technical leadership, planning, design, second-line, and third-line support in the applicable technology.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ National Diploma in an ICT-related qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an ICT environment in SAP Basis, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or specialist role.
- OR Minimum of 6 years’ experience in an ICT environment in SAP Basis, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or specialist role.
