About the Position

We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to design, develop, and implement efficient solutions for Transnet’s business processes and applications. This role requires expertise in SAP ABAP and Webdynpro, with experience in SAP IS-OIL and other modules, as well as integration with external systems. The successful candidate will analyze, design, code, and maintain applications to ensure users have access to accurate and relevant data for daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

– Design, develop, and implement SAP functionality.
– Create test plans and conduct unit and integration testing.
– Manage SAP changes according to Transnet’s Change Control procedures.
– Develop and maintain reports, queries, interfaces, and workflows for SAP systems.
– Research new SAP modules and functionalities.
– Provide technical support and debug applications to resolve system issues.
– Transfer SAP and IT knowledge to users.
– Maintain development-related documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

– Degree in Information Technology or a National Higher Diploma.
– 3–5 years of IT experience for degree holders or 5–8 years for diploma holders.
– Strong expertise in ABAP development, especially in SAP IS-OIL, FI, SD, MM, QM, and PM modules.
– Experience with SAP Portal applications using Webdynpro and ABAP.
– Knowledge of integration technologies like Web Services and XML transformations.
– SAP ABAP certification is required.

Knowledge & Skills

– Understanding of business and technical processes.
– Experience in the full software development lifecycle.
– Knowledge of SAP business processes and integration across modules.
– Familiarity with SCADA, metering systems, and Disaster Recovery systems.
– Strong problem-solving, innovation, and communication skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
