Specialist: Research & Planning

The Specialist will conduct research to build and improve institutional knowledge. This work follows research management frameworks, policies, procedures, and legislation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and carry out research projects. This includes analyzing data and creating planning documents and strategies.
  • Review current research and strategies. Suggest changes, find opportunities, and make improvements to stay competitive.

Job Requirements:

Minimum:

  • Honours Degree in Administration, Public Administration, Statistics, or a related field (NQF Level 8).
  • Ideally, an Honours or Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Human Resources, Labour Market, or equivalent (NQF Level 8).
  • A qualification and experience in research are required.
  • 4-5 years of experience in research, preferably in training, education, and development.

Ideal Experience:

  • Working with stakeholders, understanding OFO Codes, skills supply and demand, interventions, learning pathways, and project management for research.
  • Staying updated on skills development trends to guide research projects.

The salary is negotiable and includes a Total Cost to Company package with contributions to retirement fund and medical aid.

  • LGSETA follows Employment Equity principles and may not make an appointment.
  • The successful candidate must sign a performance agreement.
