Specialist: Digital Forensics Investigator

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma in Computer Forensics, Cybersecurity, or IT (NQF 7) AND 8-10 years’ forensic investigation experience
  • OR Matric Certificate (NQF 4) AND 15 years’ digital forensics experience

Key Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of computer/mobile/cloud forensic techniques
  • Expertise in data recovery and electronic evidence handling
  • Understanding of South African legal frameworks (Tax Administration Act, Criminal Law)
  • Experience with investigative procedures and court testimony

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complex digital investigations across multiple evidence types
  • Analyze digital artifacts from computers, networks, and mobile devices
  • Develop forensic investigation protocols and improvement strategies
  • Prepare court-ready reports and present technical evidence
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and intelligence agencies
  • Maintain chain of custody for digital evidence
