Job Purpose
To analyze data and provide expert advice on revenue analysis to help achieve business goals.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Science, or Statistics, plus 8-10 years in a data analysis role, including 3-4 years at junior specialist level.
Alternative
- Senior Certificate (NQF 4) plus 15 years in Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Science, or Statistics, including 3-4 years at junior specialist level.
Minimum Functional Requirements
- Intermediate knowledge of data warehouses.
- Intermediate programming skills, such as SQL, Python, or R.
- Proficiency in basic data migration tools like SSIS.
- Basic data visualization using Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence methodologies.
- Database knowledge.
- Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) at proficient level.
Key Responsibilities
Process
- Gather data from various sources and maintain databases, using skills in extraction, transformation, and modeling.
- Monitor data quality and processes to spot issues and suggest improvements.
- Advise on resource planning and development in your area of expertise.
- Develop practices aligned with organizational goals and implement them effectively.
- Use your expertise to recommend solutions for risks and problems.
- Integrate business information, analyze it, and create reports for better decisions.
- Maintain and optimize data analytics tools like reports, dashboards, and data marts.
- Implement strategies to improve processes and systems.
- Plan for ongoing improvements to achieve operational excellence.
- Identify problems, assess impacts, and develop practical solutions.
- Recommend and implement changes for better processes and innovation.
- Design, develop, and test advanced data analytics solutions such as reports, dashboards, and models.
- Research and provide recommendations based on data analysis to meet business needs.
- Communicate findings and insights clearly.
- Perform advanced business analysis using techniques like statistical analysis, modeling, and data mining.
- Assist in cleaning and filtering data by reviewing reports and indicators.
- Analyze data, summarize findings, and create visuals and presentations.
- Support decision-making with analysis and reporting for management and teams.
