Position Summary

Lead end-to-end audit preparation and support financial statement auditing processes in this 18-month contract role.

Required Qualifications

  • BComm/BComm(Hons) with SAICA articles completion
  • Professional certification (CA/ACCA/CIA preferred)
  • NQF Level 8 qualification

Experience Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience with AGSA audits (preferred)
  • Proven ability to prepare PFMA/IFRS compliant financial statements
  • Experience implementing financial control systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Companies Act and public sector regulations

Key Responsibilities

Audit Management

  • Oversee complete audit preparation cycle and documentation
  • Coordinate internal financial reconciliations
  • Maintain audit working papers and compliance records

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Primary liaison for external auditors (AGSA/SNG Grant Thornton)
  • Facilitate interdepartmental audit preparation
  • Address audit findings and implement recommendations

Process Improvement

  • Develop standardized accounting procedures
  • Enhance financial controls and reporting systems
  • Provide technical guidance on complex accounting matters

Technical Requirements

  • Proficiency with Draftworx/CaseWare software
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Experience in fast-paced, compliance-driven environments
