Job Title: Senior Specialist: Supplier Relationship Management

Position Purpose

  • Lead Transnet’s strategic supplier relationship management initiatives and high-stakes negotiations.
  • Oversee the supplier base, focusing on performance, risk, collaboration, and development.
  • Provide strategic insights to executive committees and align supplier relationships with corporate goals.
  • Execute and monitor the Group-wide SRM strategy, ensuring compliance with KPIs and SLAs.
  • Coordinate communication between internal teams and stakeholders, including Localisation and BBBEE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advanced SRM policies and frameworks.
  • Lead negotiations with key suppliers to drive growth and align with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee high-value supplier integrations and manage complex procurement processes.
  • Optimize supplier performance, risk, and collaboration to achieve business outcomes.
  • Deliver analytical reports to inform executive decision-making.
  • Build long-term partnerships with strategic suppliers and adopt global best practices.
  • Initiate transformative SRM initiatives for continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Hands-on experience with PFMA, PPPFA, and public sector procurement.
  • Strong knowledge of Supplier Development and SMME development.
  • MCIPS certification is advantageous.
  • Valid Driver’s License (Code 8).
