Position Purpose
The Senior Specialist: Integration Developer will provide comprehensive process solutions to business partners by developing and supporting integration solutions between Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) business applications and external stakeholders’ platforms. This role requires collaboration with architectural and business partner teams to design solutions aligned with ICT and Transnet strategy. The ideal candidate will take ownership of solutions, manage cross-functional teams, and foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy and Planning: Provide technical expertise to document integration requirements and ensure alignment with ICT and Transnet strategy. Lead and assist in developing new integration solutions and participate in transformational projects.
- Operational Management: Implement best practices and standards for integration development. Quality assure technical specifications, develop/configure integration solutions, and perform testing. Provide 24/7 production support, manage incidents, and mentor integration specialists. Influence training strategies and adhere to SDLC methodology.
- Acquisition and Implementation: Build relationships with development teams to understand application architectures. Stay updated on emerging integration solutions and continually develop skills in applicable technologies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Related Degree or National Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a related field
- Certifications Required: ITIL Foundation
- Beneficial Certifications: ITIL Intermediate, TOGAF, COBIT, ISO 20000, Agile, DevOps, Lean
