Position: Senior Engineer – Operations & Maintenance (ENER20243)
Job Type: Full Time
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) or equivalent
Experience: 5+ years in municipal electrical systems
Location: Gauteng
Registration: ECSA Pr.Eng/Pr.Tech Eng/Pr.Cert Eng required
Licensing: Valid Code B driver’s license
Key Requirements
- Electrical Engineering degree (NQF Level 7 equivalent)
- Proven track record in municipal electrical network management
- Expertise in operations, maintenance, and infrastructure modernization
- Electrical Engineer’s Certificate of Competency (advantageous)
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee electrical distribution network operations across the metro
- Develop maintenance strategies aligned with organizational objectives
- Implement risk mitigation protocols for network security
- Quality control assurance for all electrical infrastructure projects
- Team leadership and resource optimization for maintenance units
- Budget management and compliance with procurement regulations
- Contractor oversight for capital projects and system upgrades
- Asset management program implementation
