Position Details
Employment Type: Full Time
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) or equivalent
Experience: Minimum 5 years in Municipal Electrical Distribution & Metering
Location: Gauteng
Professional Registration: ECSA certification required
Licensing: Valid Code B driver’s license
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee electricity meter installation and maintenance across all service depots
- Lead strategic management of Metering & Electrical Installation operations
- Coordinate capital and operational budgeting for metering infrastructure
- Implement community education programs for energy services
- Ensure compliance with electrical regulations and municipal bylaws
- Optimize revenue generation through effective energy management
- Supervise teams to maintain high service delivery standards
- Manage prepayment, conventional, and AMR meter systems
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 7 equivalent)
- 5+ years’ experience in municipal electrical environments
- Proven track record in revenue protection strategies
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies
