Introduction

We are looking for a Shop Assistant/Cashier to provide excellent service. This role involves handling customer service, point-of-sale operations, and store merchandising to create a positive experience for every customer.

Job Description

Key Objectives:

  • Carry out all point-of-sale tasks quickly and accurately.
  • Scan items correctly, process payments, and apply clubcard rewards without errors.
  • Handle cash safely at all times.
  • Promote the Clicks clubcard actively and sign up new members to meet our targets.
  • Inform customers about promotions to boost sales and help them save money.
  • Act as a brand ambassador by being friendly, visible, and professional to deliver top customer service.
  • Manage merchandising and housekeeping tasks to meet store and visual standards.
  • Support our goal to be the top choice for health and beauty by living our company values.
  • Stay informed about products, promotions, and events to give customers accurate advice.

Knowledge Required:

  • Basic math skills.
  • Background in retail or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), including merchandising and promotions.
  • Understanding of stock management processes.
  • Knowledge of excellent customer service.

Skills Required:

  • Planning and organizing.
  • Problem-solving.
  • Strong focus on customers.
  • Good communication.
  • Computer skills.
  • Numeracy.

Minimum Requirements

Experience:

  • Preferred: Experience in a customer-facing role in retail or FMCG store operations.

Education:

  • Required: Grade 12.
  • Preferred: At least 50% in Maths and English at Grade 12 level.
