Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a technical consulting and investigating service.
  • Produce and integrate engineering solutions and designs for asset creation.
  • Develop and approve discipline-specific philosophies, technical standards, procedures, work practices, and specifications.
  • Manage and conduct product, equipment, material, service, and change impact evaluations.
  • Provide input into discipline-specific technology vision, strategy, and direction setting.
  • Conduct discipline-specific technology research.
  • Participate in national and international technical forums.
  • Provide professional technical leadership.

Minimum Requirements

Qualification(s):

  • BTech / National Higher Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering NQF 7 with 360 credits
  • Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Technologist

Experience:

  • Experience in engineering planning and design, design integration, and engineering management in relevant technologies for power stations, substations, and electrical networks.
  • Engineering planning and design, overhead line engineering design, substation design, distributed generation integration, secondary plant engineering design, protection, telecommunication, measurement metering, civil design, and control.
